About Us
For nearly 250 years, the American story has been shaped by ordinary people who believed freedom was worth fighting for. Our Founders risked everything to build a nation where government served its citizens, not the other way around. Generations after them paid an even higher price to protect that promise—over 600,000 died in the Civil War to preserve the unity of our country, and millions fought across the world to stop fascism and defend democracy. America has always survived because its people stepped forward when the moment demanded it.
Today, the threat looks different. It isn’t a foreign enemy or a dictator. It’s a Congress that no longer works for the people who put them in office. Career politicians stay for decades, donors and party leaders decide who gets elected, and lobbyists write the rules while families struggle to be heard. This is not the government our Founders imagined. But they gave us a remedy. When Washington drifts away from the people, the Constitution gives us the power—through the states—to make the corrections needed to restore our democratic republic. That power is Article V. And the amendment our country needs now is term limits for members of the House and Senate.
Term limits are how we return Congress to what it was supposed to be: a citizen legislature made up of people who serve their country, not their careers. They break political gridlock, weaken corruption, and remind elected officials who they work for. And 87% of Americans—across all parties—agree. We are united on the solution. Now we must act.
Term Limits for a Stronger America (TLFSA) was created for that purpose. We are not a political party. We are not a lobbying firm. We are citizens working to help the American people use the tool the Founders left us. We partner with experts who know how to move term limits resolutions through state legislatures while we organize the power that matters most: We the People. Through our national campaign and our growing community called The Promise, we are mobilizing Americans in every state to speak up, show up, and make their voices impossible to ignore.
The path is clear. We already have 12 states that passed the full resolution. The finish line—34 states to call a convention and 38 to ratify—is closer than it has ever been. But success depends on the strength and unity of the American people. When lawmakers hear from thousands of their own constituents, they pay attention. When they hear from millions, they move.
That is why your role is so important. Joining The Promise takes seconds. Donating—even a small amount—helps us bring this message to every corner of the country. Sharing our mission helps others realize they are not alone. Every voice adds weight. Every action brings us closer. Together, those small acts become a force Washington cannot ignore.
This is our moment in the American story. The Founders fought for it. Generations defended it. Now it is our turn to preserve it. A Congress that serves the people again is not a dream—it is a responsibility and a constitutional right. And with your help, it will become reality.
Join The Promise. Stand with millions.
Let’s restore the government Americans deserve and build a stronger nation together.
